Google Launched Google Chrome OS

Few months ago, exactly at 7/07/2009, Google launched it's new project. After many applications and services they gave, now Google launched the new OS against Microsoft. How do you think, will they kill Windows or what? Google Chrome OS is a light weight Linux operating system, which has GNOME 2.24 desktop environment. And as techpp.com said, there are some advantages in this new OS against Microsoft. Some of those are:

1. Open Source – Google Chrome OS is an Open Source operating system and it means free of use.

2. Fast and lightweight – Google chrome OS is built for the terms of speed, simplicity and security.

3. Hardware - Google Chrome OS is tipped to run on both x86 as well as ARM chips which are much better and faster than the old Pentium 3 & Pentium 4 processors.

4. Improved Security – As per Google : “And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.”

5. Cloud computing – Another primary advantages of Google Chrome OS are, Google’s cloud-computing that data is available from anywhere you can find a networked computer, or, increasingly, mobile phone. It also permits more natural collaboration, since multiple authors can work on the same document simultaneously rather than e-mailing variations or sharing them on a central server. And with data stored on the Net rather than on a PC, upgrades and laptop theft are relatively painless issues.

Or in another words, as wikipedia said, "Google states that Chrome is being designed in a minimalist way, much like its Chrome web browser. In this way, the company hopes to move much of the user interface from the desktop environment to the World Wide Web. Cloud computing will be a large part of its design. It has stated that, for developers, "the web is the platform". The Chrome OS is being targeted at users who spend most of their computer time on the Internet, and is designed to run on computers ranging from netbooks[8] to desktop computers. Google has stated that the Chrome OS is separate from its Android operating system, which was designed primarily for use on smartphones."

Furthermore, I'm glad to post the desktop's pictures of this new OS. Hope you enjoy it.
