Protect WAP Router against Brute Force Attack

WAP is such an antenna that anyone may steals it from you. As Wireless Access Point is an open environment, how to keep your WAP away from hacker? The hot things on the internet is, how to crack others WAP, wouldn't you mind to protect yours?

It is really terrible when suddenly your connection speed being slow more and more. And also when you are enjoying the experience of surfing, your webpage become halt. If you use a router as your internet connection, it may because of somebody has interrupted and stolen your bandwith connection. This often occurs when you live in a settlement.

As WAP is an open environment, it make anyone can use your wireless access point for their intention. If so, how to keep your bandwith connection secure from the robber?

Below are some tips I got from internet, some simple ways and important things to do for protecting your WAP router, check it out:

1. Give it a password. You are really not recommended to leave your router bare without a password. As it make a big help for your enemy to steal your bandwith connection. But, if you are such a kind man, you may leave it without a password.. :D

2. Make a combinaton password. Don't make a simple password if you stand against your enemy. Use the combination from space, character, number, and also upper and lowercase. Don't leave the default password being as your router wall.

3. Do a routine changing password. Anvanced cracker, may use brute force attack tools to get your password. So, if they do, you need to occasional change your password with random password. For this, you can use the password generator tool. As you may notice, don't be afraid you will forget the password. Easily you can always connect back to your router using a cable and reset it to something else.

4. Consider the time limit. Another thing which help hackers more is because you leave you router online for 24/7. The more time you give them to interrupt your router, the more they will make a chance to get your password from internet packet you use.

And so, that is a simple way to protect your internet connection from the hacker. But even simple it really useful and effective to anticipate against any level of hacker - except the expert one, may be.

To protect the services or facilities you have is important. That also Islam said, protect our own ownership is include the 5 emergent things that Sharia (Islamic Jurisprudence) allow somebody to make exceptions from any law. It means, if somebody is in this condition of 5, sharia allows him to do thing that in regular condition is prohibited.

For example, somebody that in a very hungry condition, and there is no another food except carcass (which sharia prohibits to eat that), sharia will make him an exceptions to eat that. It means... you are really urged to protect your things from someone's crimes.

But it doesn't mean that you ought to not share your WAP with the others. But I said it is better for you to keep your internet connection under control, is it right? :)
