Acer 3810T Microphone Cable Issue

Acer 3810T is one of the best portable notebooks today. But, a little disappointing, this machine also have a problem issue.

As what the site inform, for you who have bought this machine, you are suggested to fill the form. And the issue is happen around this product: Acer Aspire3410(AS3410)or Acer Aspire 3810 (AS3810T or TG or TZ or TGZ, Acer Aspire 5738 (AS5738G) or Aspire 5738Z (AS5738ZG). Just fill out the form and you will get informed, is your laptop "infected" by this issue or not.

And then you will get an option, whether to ship it to them or bring it to the nearest authorized center. And sadly, it happen to my new laptop. And this, what they said via email:

The affected units are Acer Aspire models AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG manufactured prior to September 15, 2009. In the affected units the microphone cable may overheat when extreme pressure is applied repeatedly to the left palm rest. As a result, the unitҳ case may become deformed and the system may malfunction. Acer has voluntarily instituted a safety recall program to proactively replace the microphone cable in the affected units to eliminate any risk of overheating.

And what you could do, they will inform you if your laptop is affected. And so, follow the instruction for the recall. And that's it.
