How to Recover Corrupted Hardisk

Bookmark and Share
A disaster seem would be on my friend's eyes, when data which belongs to his organization reported to be unreadable

O man... how could??

What must I do then?

Before now, Nasem could read the data, but why now the hardisk couldn't to be read?

And so, the party seem to become a disaster... :|

My friend ask me to do something with this problem. What should we do when a disaster such this happen to us? When a gigabit of HDD data couldn't to be accessed??

Belong to my experience, I will suggest you, what have I ever done:

1. First, check the hardisk condition.
You can check it's condition from the properties from the windows explorer. Is it doing normal without trouble?

If it's normal, try the second check standar for a hardware. Use the device manager. You can find it by right-click the computer > manage > device manager. Or you can find it also in control panel > system > device manager. And check is your HDD readable or not.

If those two steps, always report normal.. but your drive still can't be accessed, so now you need the advanced tool for doing this checking. And I prefer Partition Magic 9. Choose the Advanced Partitioning and Hardisk Management.. and see there, if all your drive is readable. If it's readable, that mean your hardisk is working and can be recovered. :)

2. After all of those checking, now we go to the next step. Recovering your Data.

In this step is very easy. You just need a tool that will help you recover the damaged data in the drive or in the hardisk. For now, I prefer to use GetBackData from Runtime Software.

First of all.. analyze your hardisk by the tool. It may take very long time, depend on your hardisk capacity

And second, choose the drive you want to be recovered.

After that, you will see the folders and files that was unreadable. And so, right click the file or the folder and choose copy. Save the folders or files to another drive.

And that's all. Now you will get back your damaged or loss data in another drive.
